Bed Bug Images on Sheets and Pillows

When you have bedbugs in your bed, it is common to see stains on the sheets. They are generally black dots, although the spots can be rounded or irregular. The spots may be red due to blood, or black due to bedbug feces.

To find bed bugs you should check along the mattress seams and on the bed frames or headboards. You should also check behind the baseboards and under the edges of the rugs.

Bedbugs have specialized in living off human blood. They are blood-sucking insects that have a simple and uncomplicated life. Bed bug bites can bleed for a while after the insect has finished feeding.

Bloodstains can also appear when you inadvertently crush a bed bug by turning it over at night. The image below shows a blood stain from the bedbug bite.

Bedbugs are flat-looking when not fed. However, when a bed bug consumes a meal of blood, it bloats. The abdomen swells to consume as much blood as possible. If you crush a recently fed bloated bed bug, it will leave a large bloodstain.

However, as you slowly digest your food, there will be less blood to come out. Bedbugs don’t stay bloated for long after feeding. They begin the digestion process immediately.

The image below shows a large bloodstain on the sheets produced by a crushed, newly fed bed bug. The dead bedbug can be seen near the bloodstain.
